Doug’s passion began when he lost 100 pounds in 18 months during high school and the beginning of college. This transformation was indeed the catalyst to his future. He went on to receive his Bachelor degree from Asbury University in Exercise Science, while earning his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. He then went on to earn his Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kentucky, while authoring two journal publications on exercise and disease. While at UK, he worked as a health and wellness Graduate Assistant, a personal trainer, and a high school and collegiate strength and conditioning coach. He has formal education and experience in education and currently serves as an instructor at the SCF Collegiate School.
While formally certified as a USAW Level 1 weightlifting coach, and has experience working with high-level athletes, Doug’s passions still reside in partnering with people to transform their health and fitness. He is currently working on his Precision Nutrition Level 1 training, in order to more effectively pursue this core passion. He specializes in weight loss, Kettlebell training, and athletic performance.

“It is the characteristic excellence of the strong man that he can bring momentous issues to the fore and make a decision about them. The weak are always forced to decide between alternatives they have not chosen themselves.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
